JavaScript is one of the most popular and dynamic languages popularly used for web creation. Interpreted Languages PHP — PHP is very popular. If you’re familiar with WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla, then you’re probably already a little familiar with PHP because it’s the language all of those platforms are built. Viewing examples of sites built on those platforms should give you a pretty good idea of what PHP can do. python — Python is another very popular language. Udacity offers free courses in Python that will take you all the way from programming a simple, 2 + 2 calculator to a self-driving Google-car. Ruby — Ruby is best known for their framework, Ruby on Rails. Ruby is similar to Python, and is a good choice for creating Domain Specific Languages. JavaScript — Javascript is often confused with Java because of the similar name, even though Java is compiled and Javascript is interpreted. Javascript is popping up in more and more places these days, and its uses have extended beyond web-applications to desktop widgets and site-specific browsers. Compiled Languages Java — Java is a derivative of c++, and although it has many popular, supported platforms, it’s uses have been waning in recent years. C# — C# was developed by Microsoft as part of their .NET framework, and is meant to be a modern, programmer-friendly, all-purpose language.
