Advice for an absolute beginner?

So I've recently joined up and I can't wait to get started learning. I would like to create android apps in the long run but I've got a long way to go before that. I've begun reading through the intro to java and I'm optimistic I can learn. I guess I'm just asking if anyone has advice for a newbie. what to learn first or what I'm gonna need to invest in. I took a web design class back in high school and learned a small amount about html but other than that I have zero experience. thanks
