Is programming harder?

I am not referring to learn a technology, I want to know if you think that learn to make algorithms is harder. I am starting in this world and I would like to know your thoughts.

Writing groundbreaking algorithms might be harder nowadays but I think that with everything available online today it's probably a lot easier to learn them.
