See it completely depends on brackets i.e priority.
Which means if you add 1+1 in first place then it will be 2 and then multiply with 3 which will give you 6.
3*(1+1)=6

But if you first multiply 1 and 3 and then add one to it, then it will become for.
(3*1)+1=4
