If you mean JavaScript, it has nothing to do with Java, but when it was new, the devs wanted to push it, so they used Java in it's name, a big and popular programming language.

The biggest difference between them are their uses. Java is a programming language that can be used for Android development, developing software, and occasionally for science. JavaScript, on the other hand, is a scripting language, so its purpose is to automate things for websites, games, etc.

@Anime Gods depends on what you want to do. If you want to get into web development, try out JavaScript. If you want to go for software development, start learning Java.
