[DUPLICATE] What is "alt" that is used in DOM???

Is this what you mean? the "alt" attribute is used in <img> & <area> tags to provide an alternative text, in the event an image resource cannot be loaded, it is also used by means of accessibility feature for those with impaired vision (using screen reader).
