Why is programming considered as hard? (Discussion)

We all know that people who haven't ever tried programming say that it's too hard, you have to practice much and you have to have some skills to know what to do. What do you, learners, think about that? Is programming really hard or is this only matter of time, practice etc?

The easiness of a task is subjected to the ability, effort and talent of an individual attempting the task. I think people view programming as difficult stuff because source codes can surely be cryptic to people who don't code often (or at all). Trying to understand what to do in order to give life to a computer/device, and understanding the divine power behind mastering programming skills may also seem to be 'scary' to commoners.
