[FINISHED/OFFICIAL] June Coding Challenge: Code for the Planet 🌍💻

This World Environment Day (June 5), let’s harness the power of code — and AI — to protect and celebrate our planet! 🌱 Challenge: Create one original code project based on one of these themes: ♻️ Eco Education & Sustainability – mini games or apps that teach recycling, conservation, or green living 📊 Environmental Data Visualization – use real-world climate or pollution data to create interactive visuals 🌱 Planet-Friendly Tips & Generators – build tools that share eco-habits, fun facts, or positive green actions Let your ideas grow wild — from data dashboards to digital gardens! 🏆 Win Sololearn PRO/MAX, Bits, and XP 📅 Post your code: June 5–10, 2025 📌 Where? Make your code public and share the link in the comments of this post ✅ One entry per user – keep it original, thoughtful, and green 🧠 AI is Welcome – Show Us How You Use It! More and more employers want developers who are skilled in working with AI. So if you use AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, AI-generated art, or climate data APIs — that’s awesome! Just tell us how. Please include: - A short note about which AI tools/models you used - Credit to other coders or sources if you adapted existing code or datasets - No need for formal citations — just honest reflections and respectful crediting ✅ Example: “I used ChatGPT-4 to help refactor my JavaScript code and generate eco tips. My project builds on a weather API tutorial from [source], adapted for climate data.” This isn’t about perfection — it’s about learning to build ethically and creatively in an AI-powered world. 🌟 Reviewed by the Sololearn Green Judges 🌿 who’ll be looking for creativity, impact, and smart use of tools — including AI! Let’s code with purpose — for our communities, our future, and our planet. 🌎 Ready to Code for the Planet? 💚 P.S. 🌟 New to coding or AI? That’s totally okay! Your project doesn’t need to be big or complex — just meaningful. Even a small idea can make a real impact. This is a great chance to learn, reflect, and try something new!

https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/W0C9n4BtoFqo/?ref=app Challenge Theme: ♻️ Eco Education & Sustainability - Mini Games Project Title: Recycle Right! Description: "Recycle Right!" is an interactive mini-game designed to educate players on proper waste sorting and promote environmental awareness. The goal is simple: identify whether an item belongs in the Recycle, Compost, or Trash bin. "Note: As someone new in coding journey, Gemini AI provided guidance throughout this project's development. From structuring the HTML and refining the CSS aesthetic to developing the core JavaScript game logic and integrating educational content, its assistance was very important in bringing this game to life. It's my first time submitting a project like this. Thank you 😊." P.S. 🌟 Make sure to scroll down and check the understanding your bins educational section to contribute in making our planet a better place! 🌏

https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/W9cE4LoFKF49/?ref=app I used ChatGPT-4 to help generate green eco-tips, structure the UI, and write the full HTML + JavaScript code. The project is an interactive web app that shows random eco-friendly tips and rewards users with badges as they engage. It’s designed to promote small, meaningful actions to help the planet. 🌱 Everything is done with client-side JS so it’s fast, lightweight, and easy to run on any device.

Thank you for hosting the June Coding Challenge: Code for the Planet 🌍💻! The theme is inspiring, and I chose ♻️ Eco Education & Sustainability to create mini-games or apps that promote recycling, conservation, and green living. My goal was to highlight the importance of our planet's greenery and demonstrate how we can care for it as we would our own Planet. I used Gemini AI to enhance functionality, applied my foundational CSS skills for styling, and incorporated ideas and suggestions from my SoloLearn community. Here is my submission. https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/WJT01S99Gb0D/?ref=app Project: Eco Tips Generator 🌱🪴 I was able to create the logic of JS and the idea of HTML but the CSS part is done by Google Gemini. Gemini was also used to generate the tips that are used in the project. I was also able to refresh the workings of HTML and JS with the help of this project. THANK YOU

THIS CODE IS CRAFTED BY CHATGPT 4o and 4o-mini, everything is generated by chatgpt. I gave the prompts to debug the code till getting good results. I've run this code many times and suggested improvements to chatgpt. I've built this code to participate in CODE FOR THE PLANET challenge and win. I'll be sooo happy if i get the sololearn max or pro subscription as a reward. So wish me good luck ! https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/WoOAVU5Q9qD1/?ref=app

https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/WW276IAQoosL/?ref=app 🔧 Project: Eco Environmental Data Viewer 🌱 This project uses the OpenAQ API and Ambee API to visualize real-time pollution and pollen levels based on your location. Built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. ✨ I used ChatGPT to help design and debug the app structure, API integrations, and safety tips logic. This collaboration helped me understand geolocation APIs, fetch handling, and how to work with public environmental datasets in plain JavaScript.

https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/WkkXwu0lHNzV/?ref=app is an interactive ecosystem management game that teaches fundamental ecological concepts through hands-on gameplay. Players must maintain a delicate balance between plants, herbivores, predators, and water resources while responding to random environmental events. The game demonstrates real ecological principles such as food chains, population dynamics, and resource management in an engaging and accessible format.

https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/W71mEDJev19g/?ref=app This code explains how our actions are contributing to the increase of carbon dioxide in the environment and therefore causing increase in global temperature. It visualizes the data of the temperature anomaly throughout the years with a chart. I used ChatGPT to get suggestions about and choose the colors, and to generate the chart with the data.

Toluwani and 💦Silas🌿 And for those who are not able to access my project or are facing any kind of difficulties while running of the project. Please try to open the project using your laptop or PC. As I have created this project using my laptop and not have faced any issue upon completion. So i suggest accessing it using a PC/laptop (if the issue is with platform anyway) I have again mentioned the link of code if the link has been an issue anyway. https://sololearn.com/compiler-playground/WJT01S99Gb0D/?ref=app
