Now for real the best framework is useless if you don't know how to work with it or don't like it. So there is no real best framework, work with what you like and know.

I’d agree writing custom is best at first so you can learn the ins and outs of webservers. Sometimes frameworks abstract out too much and it ends up hurting a new programmer. That being said, for Node.js, look into express. It really makes spinning up a working webserver easy and still gives you a ton of freedom.
