Learning through Collaboration and Competition

Learning through Collaboration and Competition

We've begun exploring how learning has changed. Today's focus is on community learning, which has come to replace the more traditional "library" way – and for good reason.

Community learning is like a sweet, spicy sauce: It's a combination that shouldn’t work, but the two flavors complement each other perfectly.

Recipe for Sweetness

Being part of a learning community makes the process interesting and more fun; it gives you the opportunity to share your experiences and learn from people who have different backgrounds and skill sets. The community allows you to develop personal relationships and learn through helping each other as you work to achieve a certain goal. That is, you can solve a problem by approaching it in different ways. At the same time, you can help each other understand the various perspectives and arrive at possible solutions.

Adding some Spice

Although it’s very “sweet” that people in communities can help each other, communities have another great feature, and that is competitiveness. Communities spike competitiveness among their members, and this adds some spice to the sauce. Everybody wants to be the best, so the tension, motivation, interest, and self-realization grow immensely.

This interesting sauce, made up of collaboration and competition, is what makes community learning unique and fun at the same time. Since people in a community share the same goals, it is clear that they can reach it only through collaboration. On the other hand, “spicy” competition can help your community reach its final goal much more rapidly, and with better results.

A community will help you improve your knowledge and productivity, reaching your maximum potential. That is SoloLearn’s goal. We want to make learning fun! That's why we cherish and love our SoloLearner Community, and our goal is to improve and enhance your learning experience.
