What does the <body> mean at the start of learning html

body tag contains all the structure which user can actually see on the web page. head tag contains all the information (scripts, metadata) which helps body execute. So basically body tag is what you see on the web page.

All your "copy" which is the words that appear on your website, goes into the body tag. Anything outside of the body tag isnt normally visible to your website visitors and is considered metadata. Metadata is kind of like the subject line on an email. Its some very quick information that helps other people or websites make sense of what your website is without having to load the whole thing.
