My thought about sololearns improvement!

Question

Sometimes when I see the trending codes, I see some non-web based codes with such level of sophistication and excellence I wonder why they are way down in the trending codes with few likes,below some web codes which took little or no effort to make!When was the last time a Python or c# or non-web based code appeared in the COTD?I think sololearn should give this codes more ranking than they are now!your thoughts?

I have a few suggestions for sololearn improvement!!😃
1. Allow status update on account so followers can see what user is up to and allow comments on it. It is better than allowing one-to-one chatting.
2. There should be a easy option to see and open questions I follow.
3. Search for users
4. I want an option that codes I like to appear in my profile, so I can refer to them later for learning purpose. There is no such record.
5. Copying code only with coders permission.

i like your suggestions but i think implementation would put too much burden on the user to reply esp as
numbers increase.
i keep a copy of codes i'm interested in and this too becomes problematic
as numbers increase.
for "following questions", we get update notifications on questions that we comment on.
now and then i yearn for a SerchKeyword function at least in my own profile.

Many people here are focused on web development, whether it's because they're going into that field or because others told them to do it because "that's what beginners should do." (which I don't agree with unless they're focused on web development, but that's for another thread) As such, they probably aren't even reading the other code that isn't related to what they're currently studying.
Also, those that are unfamiliar with the more advanced code can get intimidated by having to read it, so they simply don't read it and just move on to code they can understand/relate to.
That's just my thoughts on why it may or may not happen. Take it with a grain of salt though, just speculation. At the end of the day, when it comes to voting, you're at the mercy of the masses.

Web codes are more facinating.
A beginner who would open a trending code list is facinated by them and gives a thought to learn web too.
This is how someone who wants to get popular easily finds this a shortcut without considering if web development is his journey or not
Moreover web codes show the level or extent to which someone can imagine stuffs.This is an essential part for a coder to develop.

Apart from what @Netkos said, web codes supports fancy animation with CSS help, throw JavaScript in, and you have more than that, and even as simple as they were designed, they came up with GUI looks, buttons, text entries etc. are easily added into the page, on the other hand, non web codes are stuck with console appearance in black & white. Given most SoloLearners are young, it's easy to predict which one attracts more attention :)

took little or no effort to make? i do not agree with that. there's nothing done here like that. not the first hello world or the first trending code.
to participate on your subject, i'm pretty sure it has to do with the result with web codes ususally being more graphic that tend to be more upvoted. i upvote anything that 1. understand, 2. i find useful, 3. i like.
