@Saugat It's not exactly hard to get any of it for free, and based upon the title of your thread, I'd say you already know how. lol However, this isn't the place for me to tell you how to do it or promote such things. Either way, Linux isn't bad, so this could actually be a really good learning experience for you. I think it's useful for people to take the time to learn linux and all of the neat things you can do with it, even if they don't use it as their primary OS. So if nothing more, you'll get a chance to expand your knowledge on linux, which if you stick to the IT field, will most definitely come in handy for you at some point.

Ubuntu probably. it is quite user friendly. try installing it on a virtual machine first or dual boot until you are ready to migrate.

I always opt for the LTS versions. 16 is the latest LTS release I believe. https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Keep the pirated software in your hdd would probably means keep the maliciously virus in your new win10 pc. Delete the pirated immediately, virus scan and sanitize your pc now.

@Calvin What virus? @Saugat Do whatever you want with it. If you've been getting good use from the pirated version, then do it? I'm not sure if the pirated version gets important updates or not, but if it does, then won't hurt. I didn't know they were releasing a free version, so I can't speak on it, but I'm sure they have a ton of info on their site about it. So you can assess it best by actually assessing it. Although linux isn't my primary OS, I've always loved linux and also have a version of it dual booted on my machine. If it's something you'd like as your primary, then go for it, but like Jay said, you may want to dual boot it and see how you like it first. Sometimes it isn't for everyone, especially if you've exclusively been Windows and have little knowledge of linux. I use to be a big Red Hat fan, but most recently I've been mostly using Centos 7, largely in part to the type of professional work I do.

I haven't really played with Ubuntu that much, so I'd just go with the latest version of it. You haven't been using it, so you don't have any expectations or habits that could be altered by a new version, thus you shouldn't be annoyed by using a new version. Jay knows more about Ubuntu than I do though, so I'd ask him for his take on it and if there is much of a big diff between 16 and 17. Or just look up both versions to see what the diff is and make a choice based upon what you learn about each.

Added some more links for you. Should give you a better idea on the Ubuntu thing. All of my web servers are running on Centos 7, so that's mainly what I use these days.

@Netkos I would be so happy if I could get free office, Windows and their services though that does not happen. I believe it's better to try Linux ! Thanks for your recommendation.
