as long as the chip is the same they'll work the same as the origina arduino uno, if you don't mistreat them (shorts/ hefty loads on oitput pins etc...). Some clone may come with worse protection circuitry but i often saw clones with heftier 3,3 regulators and additional connectors at a lower price than the original board. I never noticed anything wrong with the clones i have (nano and micro). For the UNO, just buy an ATMega328 and few other components and you're good to go way below the 25 euro retail price of the original board.

I did one of my college projects using Arduino, to simulate mobile ad-hoc network , MANET ( or atleast something like it😋) using RF xbee chips, in the start I bought cheap Arduino boards from a local electronic store, they would malfunction every now and then , so had to buy genuine ones from Amazon , they were awesome ,even now they are working , did so many cool projects on them , perfect toys for geeks , maybe I ll gift it to my nieces some day , when they grow up a little
