It'll be around for a long time, so if you learn it now, it's still worth it. in the future it's pretty obvious it'll die, but it's not soon enough to not recommend learning it

It is new, programmers do not have to use it.

I don't really like discussions about languages where it stands as a "live or die" situation... I mean IBM Mathimatical formula transforming system is still used today and that was created in like 1950's if I'm not mistaken just because a language isn't as popular as say java or python or many other languages doesn't mean it's "dead" every language was built for a reason a purpose sort of like swift or objective-C people shouldn't look at what's "popular" and look at the potential dollar sign in front of them you need to ask yourself the questions "why do I want to learn to program , what do I want to create, what language does best for what I want to create" these are the problems you need to solve. not worrying about "should I learn this language or not because of lack of popularity"
