Don't ignore my challenge, rather decline it!!!

Hi guys PLEASE, if I challenge you and you do not wish to play against me, just hit the decline button. No harm done, no xp lost. But please don't just leave it to expire, meanwhile I see you doing 100 challenges against newbies while you're waiting for my challenge to expire... I challenge 100+ players on a daily basis and it's sad to see half of that being ignored. JUST DECLINE!!! Or better yet, go to your weapon settings and disable it then I won't waste my time challenging you in the first place...

In my opinion, they're afraid of you. After seeing your Stats, I'd be too. You're right though, they shouldn't ignore challenge invitations. Either Disable the weapons for languages they aren't comfortable with or simply decline.. I feel like it is rude to ignore. Even Nikolay Nachev gets back to my challenges eventually. I imagine he has a lot of followers continuously challenging him. if a man as busy as him can complete challenges, people dont have a reason to ignore challenges from us whilst completing challenges from others.

@King Andre - fully agree with you on that one. I've said it before and I will repeat it every time - If you don't plan on playing a challenge, please decline it, that would give the challenger another chance to play someone else before hitting the challenge limit.... That said I've learned over the last year that the greatest virtue a player can have to progress here is patience. Don't fight the game, adopt to it, do not let it's flaws drive you crazy and quit, stay calm and keep going - challenge after challenge 😃

The best strategy for weak players is to wait until a challenge expires. After that, they can see questions and correct answers. If they decline challenges, then they will not be able to know correct answers. So in this case, the players, that were challenged, know that they will lose, but they want to know the right answers, so the best solution is to wait for the challenge to expire. If Sololearn allows players to see the answers to the challenge after they have declined it, then the players will prefer to decline a challenge to get corrent answers right away.

I am not that good but yeah when I am challenging someone then some people do not accept my challenges at that time and decline them some time before to expire the challenge so I got to hit challenge limit very soon that resist me to wait for while 😊😊

No sir, I never said (or implied) that I am the best. I know that I'm not. I am still learning. But I strive to be MY best. I have only passed my HTML and CSS exams so far, and I am still busy with JavaScript. I know very well that I could never compete with the top guys like mr. Nachev and others whom I admire for their all-round knowledge of web development. Nevertheless, I offer my sincere apologies to you, and anybody else who regard this post as a gesture that I am better than anybody else on Sololearn. I assure you it was not my intention to place anybody under the impression that I think I'm the best, I merely wanted to make a friendly request that anybody who do not wish to accept my challenge rather decline instead of ignoring it, but if I was wrong in doing so then I am truly sorry...

Yes, @King André. To Me, it's not about winning. it's about learning. Also, I dont have anything to lose... your high XP makes me gain XP even if I lose. I'll keep at it then. I'll challenge you and hopefully win; although this will be in full effect after the 27th of November... My priority is studying for my final NSC exams and my last paper is on that date. You mentioned writing HTML and CSS exams... where are you learning from? It seems really good, Your Stats are proof of this. I'm struggling with JS and I could use all the help I can get. This is totally unrelated but I look up to you, as a fellow South African. At the rate that you're going at, you'll reach Platinum very soon. You've levelled up faster than many of us here.

Haha, not necessarily @Faceless. I make mistakes quite often, like when I fall asleep as mentioned, or when I'm trying to do two things at the same time and my multi-tasking skills fail me... I just get lucky when the opponent also makes a mistake and it still ends in a draw. I have 2 or 3 challenges in my 'waiting' list where I have made mistakes but those players are ignoring my challenge so they are throwing away an opportunity of defeating me... Anyway, a draw is just as good as a win. But there is no shame in losing a challenge, it helps in the learning process because you can go back and check the correct answer and next time that question comes along you will know the correct answer...

Wow, I feel really honored to say the least... Thank you very much. Anyway, I don't think the moderators will approve of us changing the Q&A into a chat zone lol... But you are most welcome to send me a mail on andredupreez@live.co.za for further discussion about studies. And good luck with the NSC, quite a few years have passed since I did mine

@Faceless I lost one 10 days ago. I don't think I am too good. It's like the great Mr. Gary Player used to say: "The more I practice the luckier I get." Anyway, your stats are just as impressive... Mostly 5's. Keep it up, sir.

I am not sure if you've tried this; it is an old thread so I am not sure if it will work but if it does, it'll reduce the amount of challenges you create and bring challenges to you, thus reducing the chances of you reaching the challenge limit. https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/502545/?ref=app

@King André You started learning CSS ? That's great 😊 But with your skills in HTML, I think you can easily be able to make a code HTML / CSS 😏

Also, I don't understand why the lower-level people don't complete every challenge from someone with a higher level or with much more XP in a particular language. They would still receive XP if they lose - sometimes more XP than they would get from challenges with someone of an equal level. They also get to look at the questions they missed and figure them out, so they can get them right when they see the question again. Challenging high-level people can help you learn a lot, get better at challenges, and gain XP at the same time. So please stop ignoring or declining challenges and just use your losses to get better, that's what you're here for.

yes..I agree Sir @David Fuqua...I agree with you...They should accept...They have nothing to lose...accept the challenges...before I targeted on the challengers whose level are lower than me😜😜😜😜😜...sorry I mean sololearn ranking 😂😂😂😂...now I prefer challengers whose level are higher than me...now I am OK with the higher challengers.😂😂😂😂...feeling better now...even i am defeated, i still get rewarded with xp...how blessed I am.😍😍😍😍..we dont need to be ashame for being defeated..., we are all learners here...else they should go to teacher's training or champianship training instead....😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

@Andrew Ting Mai Zau, that is absolutely the right attitude to have. Quite a few of us on here are professional developers, and we still lose challenges (the algorithmic questions can be especially tricky at times in the time allotted). There is no shame in losing, just use it to get better. People shouldn't let their ego prevent them from learning new things.
