java's primary use is to develop android applications that includes games. with c++ you have more control over memory handling which is the advantage over java's garbage collecter this is the one of the reasons why c++ is used if games were written in java they wouldent crash😜

Java can certainly be used for games. A good example is Minecraft, which is primarily made in Java. Lol: C++ (the core game is written in this) Lua (core game) C# (game tools) ActionScript (game hud and pvp.net) Java (platform servers) Erlang (platform servers) Php/sql (web team / platform) Cod: Probably C or C++. Couldn't find exact info. Guess it depends on the Game Engine they use. RuneScape: Mostly Java with the Game Engine they used. Counter Strike: Mainly C++. Also, Squirrel
