Why should i learn react.js, what are the benefits?

Question

I know html, CSS, JS and picked up jQuery too it's cool, small codes but enhanced functionality than plain JS, recently I made my own website too, but what are benefits if I learn react.js, should I know it before moving to electron( my next target to develop platform independent applications)

please advise?
