In my area, $75k(entry)-$140k(senior) a year. (depends upon language/framework/etc...) However, you have to think about the bigger picture and what you're becoming. The numbers I gave you is in regard to working for corporate business, making someone elses dreams real and making them rich. You're a programmer though, which makes you an insanely powerful person if you use it. What do I mean? You can be the person that's creating million dollar software and billion dollar businesses. What you decide to do, and its resulting revenue, is completely up to you and what you're willing to do.

@Raphaelrequigo Yes. Degree is just a piece of paper, and is hardly an accurate measurement of your ability. You're the one that is the determining factor, so it'll be up to you to display your ability to the employer and sell yourself to them. If you hone your skills, and are able to present your skills to the potential employer, then you can obtain a job. I don't have a degree, and I've been working in the field for awhile now. Just like with most things, communication is important, so work on your ability to talk with others and represent yourself; that alone goes a long way.

Good! :) I programmed for "fun" for well over a decade before I decided to capitalize on it. It's a long road, but well worth the journey, and it's a fun journey if you don't get stuck on the process required to learn it. If you can be rich while programming and working for yourself, then that's a great means of being happy and content. ;) Point being, follow your passion and create your dreams instead of focusing upon creating someone else's dream.
Best of luck to you bro! Things will get tough throughout the way, but don't give up on it and just push forward. Trust me, it gets easier.

@Patrick Oh, very nice! :) You sound like the young me. I started when I was 13 (31 now), and was focused on game development also. I got sidetracked by networking for awhile and "boring" software development stuff, but in the more recent years decided to transition back over into game development. Right now I'm working on some indie projects, and hoping to get things going so I can quit this job to focus on my game company instead.

@RaphaelRequigo Awesome! I envy your graphic design ability. :D I'm a game developer, so that would be useful if I was great at both. Keep up the good work man, and learn whatever you can! As you progress your skills, your ability will become clear to those around you, and you'll be able to show them what you're made of. That speaks more volumes about you than anything else.
Since you appear to be focused in web dev, I would recommend that you learn JavaScript, and then some of its frameworks like jQuery, NodeJS, AngularJS, React, etc... That'll help propel your ability with web dev significantly. It's a good place to get going, if nothing more, and you'll discover many other things you may or may not want to learn along the way.

@Patrick :D Gaming platforms. And discord is a chat/voip type of thing, similar to Ventrillo/TeamSpeak, but amazing in comparison to those.
Yeah, definitely email me. I'll help get you going and pointed in the right direction with game programming. I'm in no particular rush with my projects, so I don't mind helping you learn and letting you mess with some of my less important projects to learn from them.
