Best open source management system?

hello friends. actually am trying to make a php website basically with embedded videos and music albums . so am wondering if you can suggest any good cms to use ? I want the website to be easy to update and improve and the use of custom design etc .. the goal is to practice my html and php skills and more thanks in advance
