Is this a workable solution for reverse-italicized text?

Question

I was looking around for something that would slant italic letters to the left instead of to the right, and found out there is no such <ri> tag! Because of the <script> tag, is this not a pure HTML solution/workaround? I got stuck trying to get an input text variable working, so I commented those lines out - any help greatly appreciated!
