I believe I am close to getting a guru badge
I hope getting it closes most of the gap to platinum.

No problem. By the way, as far as I know Code Guru, as all other code-based badges is a one-timer. Unlike challenge-based merits which are available for each language separately (shown only once, but boosting xp each time they are earned per single language).

Improve your challenger section it is 19% from completion and you will become a full pie-charter.
And sneak your way into platinum
