What are your thoughts on the recent Google engineer manifesto that made arguments against females in the tech industry?

Recently, an unnamed Google engineer released a manifesto stating that women are biologically unfit for tech jobs. I, personally, believe the document is apalling amd misogynistic.

my long answers, as always: i believe it is tremendously untrue that women are 'unfit' to be in the tech industry. everyone, regardless of race or gender IS fit to be in the tech industry as long as they work hard, show their potential, so much more. there's no prerequisites to your identity, but many people stereotype especially in this area. whether you are female or male does not decide if you're going to do ai programming as you give yourself your own green light to. there is no difference in skills based on biology alone -- whether you choose to be a janitor or the ceo of microsoft, gender does not police whether you succeed or not. it does not tell you if you won a challenge on sololearn or not, if you will be better than others in a field. but its not surprising such a weird view would come out as many undermine women in the tech industry, based on just their gender since it is such a 'male-dominated community'. women should feel open to join such a growing community without the fear of belittlement, but this goes to show there's not as many open arms as the same reaction is provoked from other areas of careers as well. i'd also enjoy hearing from the community. edit: another point - ada lovelace, first female programmers, ANY woman in the tech industry from before and now. it should not be brave to go out and be a woman programmer and be singled out because its so 'rare', but normalized and accepted for their skills just like everyone else. the world is looking for more additions to the tech industry of any and every background. tl;dr: refer to the article @Hatsy has linked to.

Speaking from personal experience, no matter engineering or programming, how one excels in the field of expertise has nothing to do with gender. It is important to know that being very competitive does not ensure quality - and this means that the whole argument regarding biology is invalid. Quoting the article I posted: "This person does not seem to understand gender." "Perhaps more interestingly, this person does not seem to understand engineering."

I agree with VINNY too. Gender doesn't matter at all for any job as long as we have courage and desire to carry on.
