Delphi programming language

Question

Hi guys,
When embarcadero company start to improve delphi, this language has many features. Now delphi applications can execute on windows (x86 and x64), linux, mac os, ios, android and raspberry pi. It has native exe that is faster than managed languages and harder to decompile.
I know in the past, delphi has dark days but, why programmers in world don't use this powerful language now?

I guess the changes came too late - the battle was lost already in the days when the battle was Pascal against C. Programmers did not like expressive languages - they preferred {} instead of begin - end ++i instead of i := i + 1. Additionally the C compiler was better than Pascal's and when the first (DOS) 3D engines emerged it was not able to cope....
