For what is Julia better than Python or R?

It is often said that Julia is faster than the other two big programming languages. But for what kind of statistical analysis? I have heard so far that it is especially fast in cluster analysis... But what else? Is Julia also better for analyzing big amounts of network data in general? What do you know about this subject? For whom could Julia be interesting?

Take a look at its homepage: https://julialang.org There is a small (surely a bit biased, bit still :) comparison of efficiency across most basic algorithms. It surely is faster than Python and R, I would say a fine addition to the pack. Data science, statistics, mathematics, machine learning - a standard domain of Python, R, Scala and all are now also Julia's home. Btw, Jupyter Notebooks takes its name fro JUlia, PYThon and eR - to show its interoperability :)
