When do we get more XP on certain skill?

I have a big gap in xp. like 70 in C# and 400 in C++. how???

I'm guessing maybe it's how many challenges and codes you posted in either. I sent you a challenge in each, see how exp is affected (don't worry, my scores are low, I've never studied C# at all and only did a little C++ so it's 2 and 3 to beat).
