Starting with python

where to move on after completing basics of python should it be web designing tutorials or a app or software or use it for game development

somebody told me it will come in handy and the problem is they never told me how and i am still trying to figure it out

Right on. I recommend just playing with it. Look into this.. Play with files. That is an area where Python can be very useful. Move/sort some files. Open a text file and count the words. alphabetize them maybe.
