32 bits wamp on a 64bits windows 7 OS

I installed wampserver 32 bits on my 64 bits OS and it's running. But someone said to me that a 32 bits OS can't run on a 64 bits OS. I'm really confused. I really didn't care as long it was running. But I just discovered its something I should really know about. I'd be grateful for your answers..

its depending Architecture that mean before 2000 the microprocessor manufacturing companies produce only 32- bit microprocessor so the software developers have to write 32- bit application for that processor . after still now we are using 64-bit architecture microprocessors so the software developers produce both 32 and 64-bit application . here not confused about 32-bit and 64-bit it is based on processing speed example: 64- bit microprocessor can run 64-bits/sec data's 32- bit microprocessor can run 32-bits/sec data's 64-bit microprocessor system can run both 32 and 64-bit software application but 32-bit microprocessor system can not run 64- bit software application but it can only run 32- bit software application

64bit OS can also run software developed for 32bit OS. 32bit OS cannot run software developed for 64 bit OS

@M.BALAVIGNESH so it depends on the architecture. So a 64bits OS can run a 32bits OS if it has x86 architecture
