Software Engineer is a job title more than it is a status. Did I stop being good at writing & debugging code when I was a Research Assistant? Nope, I was just as good, and got better because my research (and some if my coursework) leaned on those skills. My first professional software developer job was titled Computer Specialist (Programmer) but it was much like what I do now (well, once I get my footing, only 3 weeks into the new job), and what I did for half-minus pay in grad school. Your skills are not dependant upon a title. Just keep in mind how your mind works in how you progress. If you need reinforcement, focus on smaller chunks of you larger goal (learn to sort, got practice in planning, work with more advanced data structures for a bit, then scale back and think about I/O, etc). Grand plans are great to have, but keeping from overwhelming yourself with them is a critical skill in achieving them.

what else can you aim for... I mean with wheat or rice you can prepare food..... can't do anything else..(maybe some people use them for art.. but u get my point right).... similarly with programming code.... you make programs what else.... But the way you make it. . how efficient it is... how better it is... how useful or likable it is .... how many people it attracts... ... all these are what makes the difference.... they are what that defines your greatness as a programmer
