Thanks very much!

Gold kind of crept up on me today when I wasn't looking. Thanks very much to everyone whose kind upvotes (and likestorms) helped me along the way. I'm really touched by how much time advanced coders put in to help beginners. A cynic might say it's just for upvotes, but I don't believe that for a second. Good for you. Thanks also to the mods who put in so much of their time to help keep things running smoothly, and of course special thanks to @Yeva and the SL team for making all of this possible. 🙏 ♥️

@David : I started with SoloLearn today exactly 1 month ago. I however am a former programmer but changes in my career made me switch to Managerial position in first mid level and later High Level management. However I traced the programming world from a distance for quite a while. But due to unlucky circumstances I have been victim of an accident that influenced my health very severely. So now I am surviving with some degree of disability and try to kill some of my time, whenever my health allows it. Winter time is hell time for me so we have spring in Europe and currently it is kind of ok but ????? So just to re-energize my skills for a hobby purpose, I found some interest in programming the Ardiuno boards to get some new frontiers. I have some Electronic skills that started out as a hobby years ago. I am also an active Amateur Radio operator with two different call signs. AE5YF from the USA and ON9CYF from Belgium valid throughout Europe. Both in the highest class. I guess that's about my life store in a nut shell. My age is 63 so just a few more years for my retirement.

@David, congratz with your achievement to Gold Status it is always nice to get a reward for the effort one did. As I look at your Avatar picture it seems to me that you are also an OT and probably a programmer of the first generation that started with DOS and nothing much else. Keep up the good things, I am an Old Timer that started way in 1974 with a break of about 15 years and now I am trying to fill my time resurrecting the past. I started some new languages and it goes very well. Hope you do well too, but with your Gold your are on the right track...

@David, may I ask where you're from? What big city is close to your home? Do you have any other hobbies yet? How long ago did you start with SoloLearn? Do yiu have any aspirations professionally in coding? I apologize for the many questions but I like to know how yoh where bitten by the beast. Believe me, programming can get as addictive as Gold fever (hahahaha...) Looking forward for you small reply.

Thanks @Annatoli! I've never been a programmer, although I learned BASIC in the '70's. I wanted to keep my brain active as I headed into retirement and was going to teach myself classical Greek but decided to learn to code instead, and came across this great community. Glad you're enjoying OT coding too!

@Annatoli. No problem. Big nearby city: Vancouver, Canada; other hobbies: music; professional coding aspirations: none; started SoloLearn: 5 months ago. How about you?
