Is it foolish/naive to start coding, because you want to create a game?

I know that creating a game is a huge task and might take years, but is it maybe a to high goal, if you just started to learn coding? (started with html) Should I rather set a lower goal instead of something like game coding?

Depends on what you mean by 'game'. Most blockbuster productions nowadays are done by teams of programmists, graphic designers, music composers, actors, directors and all that. However, you can easily think of creating a simple Doom-alike FPP or sprite-based platform game on your own.

if you really want it there is no other way of doing it, so go for it.

not at all. it depends on what kind of games you want to create, but having a goal in mind is the best prerequisite to learn programming. check out JavaScript and phase. good luck.

@Michael nice. I think you should try to reach goals in order to make them.
