What do you think is needed for a junior Web Dev role?

Hi sololearn community! This is my fourth month since I joined sololearn and learning to program. I am learning here, codecademy, freecodecamp, pluralsight and reading books also doing a career in my an university in my country. Learned html, css, javascript/jQuery, PHP and Mysql. Currently working on my site, blog and a backend project. Also learning Bootstrap and trying to learn more. Any professional developer who could guide me or give some tips to what should I know for a junior role in web development?

All u need is logical thinking, presence of mind and a bit of social skills 😉... Coding languages and algorithms are but tools to deliver the logic developed, social skills help u to connect with peers and even managers n finally presence of mind will keep u safe in tough times, better yet it will let u spot tough times before hand n act on it. (the day when you spot a production bug before anyone knows about it 😛) Good luck 👍☺️

Web development has two sides. Frontend and backend. as you probably noticed html, css and js are Frontend related. In small companies you need to cover both sides, but as the team size grow not each one need to know everything. that being said it's still common practice that you, even though you probably don't work on each corner of the software you need to have at least basic knowledge. so long story short try learn java which imo is a VERY common backend language. try to get into spring (java framework for e.g. dependency injection). from there on try to be a specialist in either Frontend or backend. just deepen your knowledge on on of these sides which you choose and try yourself on projects.
