Where to store images

Question

Hi
I made a mern stack website and i used mongodb as my database. It works fine until i made a website which i had to upload images to mongodb.
And when i did it got so much slower which i couldn't use anymore.
So i search for an answer and found to upload images to google cloud and then save the url in mongodb.
My question is that is it a good idea to do that and if it is how to do it.
