As per info, Downvote option, technically not removed for every one. But it will be removed for every one in couple of days. So it exists for some codes. And to those who are not updated yet. It's a forced update but still for some users it exist till next update.
lot of downvotes mis-using and report are the reason for this change.. hope haters, spammers won't find other ways to disturb, interrupt, mislead activities..

Ipang Use the Report option for spam and alike. As the functionality of the downvote button is removed, downvotes do no longer have any effect, even when you do not update the app. (edit: at least once the update is complete)

I know it may not be right, but I have a habit of down voting spams or flames, just to decrease the chance for others to visit the post and get triggered. Guess I can no longer do that once I too update the app :-0
Can't confirm the up vote bug now cause I haven't got the update notice (last update last week)

True Lisa,
Reporting has always been my second thing to do, normally. However it usually takes some time before the post gets removed from the list.
And so while waiting for the post to get removed, I just down vote the post in a hope that the next person browsing the forum would somehow get less interested to view the post, which might get the person triggered by the content.

A note on the (now outdated) downvote button for clarification:
Part of the issue was that people would (understandably) mistake the downvote option for a simple dislike button.
However, the downvote button was not intended to be used this way. According to the content creation guidelines, downvoting was eligible mostly for matters that could have been reported anyways – and this does **not** include cases of personal distaste such as disliking the background color or "Nice code!" comments.

Hi! There is a lot of conversation in here so hopefully I can answer at least two of the main points I’ve seen.
1. Yes there is a limit to how many upvotes you can do in a very short period of time. The QA team is aware of the recent concerns and are checking to ensure it’s working as usual/intended and there isn’t a bug there. Basically if you don’t act like a spam bot, you *shouldn’t* be running into trouble.
2. We have mods working throughout every day across every timezone. They review both the user reports and the Stay Safe thread, amongst other things. I will say that it is Very Very Rare for someone to be chastised for errorenous or egregious abuse of the report function. If something has been reported but is not dealt with after a significant while, that’s something I would definitely want to be aware of so I can check whether it was human error or some glitch in the system.
I will definitely let y’all know if i hear back from QA about the upvote situation.

I can see only single comment. Some times happens like that. May be because network or cache issues🤔, idk. Updating, close and reopen, or uninstall and reinstall may solve the issue.. Otherwise, need devs investigation.
Upvotes, I think there is no restrictions.. have seen 100+ or much more upvotes storms.
May be period investigation adapted to consecutive downvotes till now for the suspicious account behavior upon reports. It make sence but not on upvotes i think...

I never encounter this problem. I frequently use updates but not stroms. Never used down vote option till now. Stromers insight or feedback may clarify it.
I tried now, and upvoted all replies here in this now 10+ , no issue.
Upvote stroms are legal here. Never neen an issue for anyone. No reports in my remembrance.. 🤔.
I think, you can report this also to get clarity for "is there any problem from your account or is there really exist any restrinction, reason possibly..".
Meanwhile, i can see downvote option for q/a answers...! may be SL backed on it.

Lamron The report goes straight to the moderators and they will check the reported content. The moderators will know who reported but other app users will not know.

In lesson comments also you can report it. Safe thread or you can send email to Sololearn many options are available for reporting purpose.

Mirielle I am experiencing the same situation now. I think they limited number of times you can upvote a user's codes, just like challenges. After upvoting 10 codes in a row it said no connection.
