How do I highlight multiple Jtable cells one by one then unhighlight them

Question

I want to highlight multiple Jtable cells one by one then unhighlight or deselect whatever was selected.
I have a code below that is able to highlight one cell at one time.
How do I modify it to be able to do what I need?
I want to deselect by or unhighlight by clicking on a cell itself.
I have attached a working code which highlight one cell at one time.
