Can cancan I become Data Scientist without technical or CS degree?

I used to be good at math at school, but decided not to pursue technical degree in University. I am on 4 th course and want to change profession and become data scientist.

Professionally..no.
Unless you have your special connections and can show you have the acceptional practice, you could get lucky.
Data Scientists play a big role for Big Data IT industries. So the chance of hiring someone without a degree related to such a job is low.

Pavel Ten Depends on how much time and/or money you can invest towards this topic of education. A higher awarded degree is great, but a technical degree will suffice.
A quick linkedin search for people in data scientists will show what degree they achieved and what companies they've worked for.
That and google will further help you in your decision

Ok, I’m on a 4th course of Univeristy now and thought about taking extra year and switching major. Thank you for your answer
