For non-native English speakers: Do you prefer studying programming with lessons in english or in your mother language?

Question

Since SoloLearn does not offer lessons in foreign languages. Do you study programming in your mother language for better understanding or do you feel more comfortable with english since we end up coding in english?

Ahem, I mean, it's understandable to learn programming languages which were written in English, in English. I also feel more comfortable that way. It's crucial if you want to participate in online discussions with other programmers regarding a piece of code.

I am a non-native English speaker and I prefer to learn programming in English not only because the coding has to be done in English but also most software developer jobs require a good communication skill in English and also most documentation for external libraries and frameworks are also in English. So while learning to code in English, I get to become better at understanding the English language as well. So I personally prefer it.

English for me too. It seems a lot more natural to code in english since the programming languages are in english, most of the world understands it and putting comments in english is a lot more concise.

It seems like most sololearners are 80% - 100% bilingual and therefore feel a lot comfortable with English.
I was curious to know more about this community because I've seen some questions in the Quiz Factory with a terrible english and I was wondering if they were able to understand the lessons provided in here.
I also have friends who don't speak english but are great programmers, they tell me they don't know the meaning of english words but they do understand the concept behind it and what that word does. That's how they do it. I couldn't imagine myself writing code in chinese without knowing the meaning haha 😄 but somehow they manage to do so and I'm amazed by that 😊

I prefer to learn coding in English not Polish, although it is of no greater matter to me. It might happen though that some terminology is not that obvious when switching to your local language suddenly :)
Especially data typology, operators and logic since it is highly influenced by math terms - well developed in Polish, for example.

Of course English. coz no one learns by birth. the only difference is you speak in mother tongue at home and English at institution. infact you definitely read write English more than your mother tongue. I hope this answer satisfies your question. :))

I prefer to learn in english too, since there is often more material to chose from, most stackoverflow are in english, etc. When talk with my project partners I even say things like "pulleá" instead of "jalá" (when I want to tell my partners to pull from my branch) :p
