help html body

Question

so I was trying to create a nav bar but I encountered this problem with the body of my document.
Even though nothing is specified the body of my document is set to 1440 x 320. setting heigth:100% do nothing. even the width of the nav tag is messed up.
i use vs code and chrome on pc, i copied and pasted the code here so you can see it.
can anyone find what's wrong with my code??
