by opening image in an image editor and note coordinate showed when hovering image with mouse cursor ^^
most of image editors allow that, sometimes by enabling a display coordinates option ;P
you could also define your image map coordinates by try and fail attempts... or by finding more or less dedicated tools (wich could allow wysiwyg creation of hotspot area)
