Why python is not running in linux

I have edited .xinitrc file. So! Not any GUI loads at start and I get terminal. I wants to just run PYTHON script at startup but not working. Content of .xinitrc file exec python /root/test.py

Does it work when you run this line on your terminal? python test.py

silentlearner .xinitrc is file which runs at start of Linux. Before I edited it, it had command to run XFCE desktop environment. I removed command to run XFCE desktop environment so not any desktop environment runs and I get only terminal. I Wanted to start a python script at startup of Linux. So I edited .xinitrc file to run PYTHON instead of Desktop Environment but it is not working. Not any python script is running

Dihen Yes! It is Linux. What do you mean by only Linux. I'm using Linux which is based on Debian

python is not supporting linux. use somthing else. do you have only linux?
