Can we make a code to determine the real life size of a object from a image taken?

I want to find out the dimensions of my furniture by just clicking some photos.

But what if it's something that I can't reach or measure by tape , like how do they measure the highest of skyscrapers , there must be some computation in it right?

"But what if it's something that I can't reach or measure by tape , like how do they measure the highest of skyscrapers" you're gonna need two people for that. one person at the top of a building would either hold the tape on hand or nail the hole, then throw the tape downward. the second guy would catch the tape and put it to the ground, thus measuring the whole building LMAO

There are augmented reality measuring apps like ARuler or the one from google for this scenario. Simply measuring physically will be more precise and reliable however
