Aydita Higns there are many areas of the app which we are constantly being moderating. Yes encouraging users to learn and actually have hands on practice does help to influence following and being active / helpful in question and answers forum.
There are those whom have successfully reached platinum status without playing challenges.

First of all, brand name may reflect the type of its contents, but it's NOT the recommended way to define what kind of platform it is.
If SoloLearn was meant to be learn alone only, then they wouldn't add an activity feed. It exists, bcoz it is like a social media for coders.
Learning alone is never possible, what is possible is learning on your own. But, both are not same. While learning, you may need help. That's where contribution comes in. The forum exists so that you can ask for help and clear your doubts and problems.
And lastly, playing challenges is not a reliable way for learning (as I think). As a company, SoloLearn needs money. Money comes from clients, means us, the users. They use the challenge feature for attracting more users to this platform.
Finally, all I want to say that yes, there is no need to play challenges. But contribution is necessary. About xp, you're right. It doesn't reflect one's ability. It's only for the leaderboard.

Aydita Higns it appears that your question / statement is an opinion best suited for your post feed not the question and answer section.
Everyone has their own opinion. It seems your question is not a question but more suggestion.

Aydita Higns "coders don't socialize" - who said that to you? Every human is a social being and coders are humans.
About Pro, yes they are earning. But that's not the topic we are talking about, are we?
Next, comments are just one type of help. Suppose if someone doesn't understand a lesson, they can get more information from those comments. If someone gets stuck with their code, they can ask in the forum. Idk what made you to think coders/learners don't need help while learning. But it's a universal truth that everybody needs help somehow.
So, have you got your answer or is it still unclear?
