what platform is better for hardcore programming? Why? Are you sure?)

Linux. the good practice is having dual boot linux-windows for flexibility.

All are good for programming (i would say mac is debatable, but someone could correct me on that), they all have their strengths (id rather write commamd line programming like python and maybe ruby on linux, gui ide strong programming like c++/# and java and Windows but that's preference not a standard)

Linux will give you access to tons of useful tools that are a pain to get working on Windows (e.g., valgrind). If you haven't developed a preference yet, that's the way to go IMO. As for myself, I use Windows. Not because I like Windows by any means, but I've been spoiled by Visual Studio...
