Should the 5/10/50 codes belong to same language to get the respective badge?

Question

Some days back, I had 7 codes with 5 or more upvotes but didn't get the related badge. I strangely got it 2 days back. And now, I have 17 codes (see the pie chart in my profile) with 5 or more upvotes but don't have the 10 codes badge. I am wondering whether those 5/10/50 codes must belong to same language.

I just got the 'coder' badge for 3 web, 1 python and 1 ruby. It took a day or so after I got the final upvote , so I think there must be a bug.

No, not at all! Check out my codes they are in two languages Java and web and I got the coder badge though.

No they have to be in the same language. I don't know about Dayve, but it's what happens to everybody else.

Absolutely sure. I had ten codes all over 5 upvotes, 9 Web and a Python. No badge. I posted another Web code and as soon as it got 5 upvotes I earned the badge.
