You can definitely take up coding as a hobby. In my experience learning to code can be useful regardless of your profession. I would advise there is a difference between learning and reading to code and actually building stuff or doing projects with code, when you are actually making things with code is when the hobby comes to life.

Here is a link for a free online book that teaches how to use python to automate everyday task like Google sheets and Excel spreadsheets. I think this a great use of coding as a hobby. Use coding to better use tools you may already know and may use everyday.

Yes, what's the use of learning something when the sole purpose of it is to find a job? a hobby is something that u do out of intrest.
Everyone in this world who are doing something that they like are hobbyist,
while some are earning money doing it, some are doing it just to earn money, and some are doing it for fun.
