Would LUA work the same as C or C++ if you were to make applications, and system development?

Lua and C are really good choices yes C has a better advantage over Lua since Lua is written in C, but you can create your own Lua libraries in C for Lua making your uses for Lua even higher. check out the Lua docs https://lua.org
