What is your opinion on PHP as a server-side language? What do you like about PHP? What do you don't like?

I would like to ask my friends and peers from SoloLearn: What is your opinion on PHP? Do you think that someone can become a full stack developer using PHP together with it's frameworks instead of JavaScript? I would like to see constructive pros and cons from you guys! Personally, I think that many people blame PHP because of the "old factor" and use JavaScript just because it's "popular". I have experimented with php and I can say that, from the eyes of a C/C++ Developer, I consider php syntax very easy to understand, unlike JavaScript's syntax. On the other side, JavaScript seems to be so complicated and at the same time js frameworks appear like snails after a rain! We all know the attempt of jQuery to "minimise" the amount of JavaScript code that should be written to accomplish a certain thing, but nowadays there's just too !any frameworks built for using JS. Cheers everyone and sorry if I didn't make myself clear! *This is also my first "post" on SoloLearn, so let's hope for good!

php is not a multi purpose language. It was made to program web servers and that is what it does well. php has developed a lot during the years and is now a full fledged object oriented language. it is definitely a good backend language.
