Does this app teach you an entire language? More or equal than a well written book would teach?

I'm a wanna be programmer who is working as hard as i can to learn as much as i can in as many ways i can. i was given some well written web development books and gladly took them in but im more interested in software and robotics. As of right now, im using this app to learn my first language, Python, but im considering whether or not to get an actual book to learn programming cause it does say "Tutorial" and not just course and i want to learn the insides and outs of the languages i choose to learn. Thanks
