it depends on the needs and what u want to do some times u have to go intelligent language like lisp but if it include sensors and props I prefer occam it will go easy as multi processor and thread.oh , I forget to say it is best use with transputer.

depends on what hardware you used, microcontroller AVR or PIC usually use C/C++ but if you use raspberry pi you can use python
