That would depend upon your definition of better. Notepad is a very lightweight and minimalist text editor while Microsoft Visual Studio is a full featured Integrated Development Environment.
I actually use both, as well as many other editors and IDEs. I can open notepad, perform a quick edit, save the file and be done before Visual Studio has even loaded.
It's like comparing a rowing boat with an ocean liner. I wouldn't want to cross the Atlantic in a rowing boat, but an ocean liner isn't practical for crossing a river either.
Don't let yourself be tricked into thinking there is only one 'best' tool for every job.
